Overview

Glutathione (GSH) is a tripeptide composed of glutamate, cysteine, and glycine. It is the most abundant intracellular antioxidant in the human body and plays a central role in protecting cells from oxidative damage, supporting immune function, and facilitating detoxification. Glutathione levels decline with age, chronic illness, and environmental toxin exposure.

Key Benefits

Powerful antioxidant protection
Heavy metal chelation and detoxification
Immune system enhancement
Skin brightening (melanin inhibition)
Liver protection and detoxification
Neuroprotection
Anti-aging cellular protection

Mechanism of Action

Glutathione acts as a direct antioxidant by donating electrons to neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS). It is a cofactor for glutathione peroxidase enzymes that detoxify hydrogen peroxide and lipid peroxides. GSH also conjugates with toxins and heavy metals via glutathione S-transferases to facilitate their excretion, and regenerates vitamins C and E.
