Overview

GHRP-6 is one of the original growth hormone peptides, developed back in the 1980s. It is the grandfather of the GHRP family that includes Ipamorelin and Hexarelin. It works well for stimulating GH release, but it comes with a notable side effect that is either a feature or a bug depending on your goals: it significantly increases appetite. For people trying to gain muscle mass and eat more, this is a benefit. For people focused on fat loss or who already struggle with overeating, it can be a real challenge.

Key Benefits

Strong stimulation of growth hormone release
Significantly increases appetite — ideal for bulking phases
Promotes muscle growth and recovery
Anti-inflammatory properties
Supports fat metabolism through GH elevation
May have gastroprotective effects similar to BPC-157

Mechanism of Action

GHRP-6 binds to the ghrelin receptor in the pituitary gland, which triggers a GH pulse. But it also stimulates the release of actual ghrelin — the hunger hormone your stomach produces when it is empty. This double ghrelin effect is why the appetite increase is so pronounced. About 30 to 45 minutes after injection, most users feel a strong hunger signal. The GH pulse itself works synergistically with GHRH peptides like CJC-1295, making the combination more effective than either alone.

The appetite increase from GHRP-6 is significant and typically peaks 30–45 minutes after injection. Plan meals accordingly. Best combined with CJC-1295 for synergistic GH release. Avoid food for 30 minutes before and after injection.
